Tuesday April 30th Today we will: So we can: We will know we have it when: CW- (1st 5) Glue in the Eastern Hemisphere Map. This needs to have the continents labeled, oceans labeled, rivers highlighted blue, previously studied civilizations circled and labeled, current civilization we are focusing on labeled, circled and highlighted. Water DOES NOT need to be colored. Glue in the Rome/Med GeoChallenge Map: follow directions with your should partner using the Rally Coach Structure and be sure your map looks identical to the one on p. 307 in your HA book. Include the "extra locations" of Adriatic Sea, Sicily, Corsica and Sardinia. Resources for this can be found on the website under Rome/Maps Next to the GeoChallenge Map on the right glue in the Ancient Italy Map. This map needs to have the water colored in blue, (this part will be done on Wednesday next week - make the key and add coordinating boundaries colored. (follow map on ActivPanel) Glue "How Rome Started" handout after the maps into your IN.) HW- Read Ch. 1 (p.14-19) and Ch.2 (p. 20-25) in your Ancient Roman World book found on the website under Rome Textbooks.
Wednesday May 1st Today we will: So we can: We will know we have it when: CW- (1st 5) On the next page in your IN, title the page "Greek/Rome Feature Find" Look at the pictures on the ActivBoard (one is a scene of Ancient . Draw simple pictures of 3 features you see both in the Ancient Greek and the Ancient Rome picture, label them and write a sentence or two explaining why you believe they are both in Greek and Roman culture? Introduce RAK project... A Random Act of Kindness is an unexpected act of charity or helpfulness that is often done for a stranger. For this final project I'd like you to: - Research/Brainstorm ideas, then select at least one good one (more would be awesome!) - Plan out your act of kindness for a stranger - Document the brainstorming, process and delivery via Flipgrid... It MUST include: - 1st introduce yourself and the concept of your act of kindness - footage of the planning or process - footage of the delivery/execution of your RAK (and if you can, include the reaction) - conclude with a thoughtful reflection at the end - Be smart and creative with your Flipgrid (use clips not full footage, PRACTICEbefore you record, you can add effects, text, pictures, music, etc.) - Your completed Flipgrid should be at least 2 minutes but no more than 5 minutes in length This is due by Monday, May 20th and will count as your final project/test grade of the year! No credit if late! You HW- Consider the RAK project and brainstorm ideas, check those ideas with your parents as they will need to help support you and give the OK, try to land on your decision by the end of the weekend so that you can start planning and filming.

On the next page in your IN, title it HA! 32 Roman Influences. Read Ch. 32 and take notes, make a T-chart with Etruscans and Greeks. After reading each section in Ch. 32, generate an outline of CDs and ANAs of how each civilization influenced Roman culture. HW- Complete the Influences Map and any notes not finished in class. All sections need to be represented on the T-Chart.
