Greek Governments Simulation

We had a lot of fun with this experiential exercise! Students learned about the evolution of governments in Ancient Greece and how Athens eventually landed on democracy.  They took on leadership roles and enacted laws under a monarchy, oligarchy, tyranny and democracy (both direct and representative). They simulated the shifts in power and experienced what life was like for the aristocrats as well as the common people under those who governed. They especially loved doing it with snacks as our taxes/tributes!
