Toasty "Touche Day"
We concluded our Ancient Egypt unit with making our very own cartouches. Cartouches are ovals that contain the hieroglyph characters of an important personal name, such as that of royal or divine people. Students enjoyed a sweet treat of hot chocolate while they made the cartouches out of clay. Just in time for our cool weather! Cartouches will be baked, painted gold, and given a ring at the top and packaged to take home after the Thanksgiving holiday. More pictures of the final cartouches to follow! Thanks to all of the families that supported the activity... they had fun!
